Before I start talking about what I baked this time, I wanted to say Happy Birthday to one and only “Harry Potter” and also a big Happy Birthday to J.K Rowling aka the “Queen”
In honor of their birthdays being yesterday, I wanted to make something Harry Potter themed. I had already made a Harry Potter themed cake, so I wanted to do something a bit different.
But you see, while I was planning the cake, my oven blew a fuse. |:
Which is probably a baker’s worst nightmare.
I was thinking of making a no bake dessert, but then I remembered that I had recently baked muffins (before the oven blowup).
I then remembered when I watched Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone a long long time ago, Harry had gotten a cake for his 11th birthday that was made by Hagrid. Although it wasn’t the prettiest cake, I decided that it would be a pretty sentimental memory to Harry so I recreated a mini version of the cake using muffins!
My mini version! :
I basically took some buttercream I made and dyed it pink and green. I then stacked two flat muffins on top of each other with frosting in the center and then frosted the cake with a crumb coat and a final coat of pink frosting. Then I put the green icing into a plastic ziploc bag with the tiniest corner snipped off. And I wrote “Happee Birthdae Harry” to resemble Hagrid’s handwriting.
