Brown Sugar Oatmeal Cookies

Cookies are really popular this time of year. There are sugar cookies, chocolate chip cookies, snickerdoodles, gingerbread men, and so many more holiday cookies. I wanted to try something a bit different using two of my favorite ingredients in cookies- oatmeal and brown sugar!


I’m sure there are many recipes out there for brown sugar oatmeal cookies, but it’s usually not the first thing you think of when holiday desserts come up. Well, let me tell you that it should be cause these cookies are absolutely amazing.

Thick Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies (Refined Sugar & Dairy Free!)

Yet another healthy but equally delicious dessert. I don’t know about you, but I can go for homemade oatmeal chocolate chip cookies anytime of the day.


These cookies are so chewy and you would never believe that there was no processed or refined sugar in them. Also, there’s no dairy or white flour in it as well, instead, I combined whole wheat and coconut flour.

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

A couple of days ago my 5 year old brother came to me and said that he wanted chocolate chip cookies. I looked and saw that our box of cookies that we bought were finished, so I told him that I would make a batch  of chocolate chip cookies for him. (I didn’t tell him that I would put oatmeal in the cookies.) He got so excited and even helped me make the cookies. After I baked 2 cookie sheets filled with cookies, I had a little bit of the dough left. My dad told me to add a little bit of ground flaxseed to the remaining batter, so that the cookies would me more healthy.
